Contraindications & Other Considerations

If you've never had any permanent cosmetic makeup applied before, consultations are NOT required, and you may book an appointment after reading the following information. Please read below carefully and thoroughly and treat it as an "online consultation." Failing to follow the instructions and requirements below will result in your appointment being canceled and your reservation fee being forfeited.

Cosmetic tattoo results are never guaranteed and can be affected by mature age, poor diet, stress, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, age, general health, sleep/fatigue. In addition to your overall health, time spent in the sun will also play a factor in fading/healing and the final appearance of the cosmetic tattoo. You may need up a touch-up session or multiple touch-up sessions to achieve your desired results.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Who CANNOT receive a permanent makeup procedure?

If you have any of the following conditions, we are unfortunately unable to offer you permanent cosmetic makeup treatments. If you have a health condition not listed below that you think may affect your ability to undergo a permanent makeup procedure, please let us know prior to booking a treatment.

We do NOT offer PMU services to individuals with any of the following conditions:

  • Pregnant/breast feeding - NO EXCEPTIONS

  • Use Accutane (acne medication) - must discontinue for 1 year before getting any permanent make-up procedures.

  • Hemophilia - Bleeding Disorder

  • Trichotillomania - Compulsive pulling of body hair or scabs on body

  • MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) Infection

  • Keloid Scarring history- If you've ever had a diagnosed keloid scar, you need to provide a Doctor’s note indicating this treatment is safe for you.

  • Have Heart Conditions/PaceMaker/Defibrillator/Stint

  • Cold Sores - As discussed below, you can receive Microblading IF you take a prescription anti-viral medication for cold sores PRIOR to you appointment

  • Recently received lip fillers (in the past 3 weeks)

  • Any active skin disease/condition on the face - Includes cold sores, dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, severe acne in the brow area, actinic keratosis, rosacea, contact dermatitis, shingles, etc. If you suffer from any other skin condition that is not listed, please contact us before booking.

  • Epilepsy - doctor’s note of approval required

  • Uncontrolled Diabetes OR Uncontrolled High blood pressure

  • Minors cannot receive permanent makeup, even with parental consent

  • Chemotherapy or Radiation treatments- You can get microblading with a doctor’s note of approval.

MEDICATIONS

What medications may affect my eligibility for a permanent makeup treatment?

Taking certain medications can effect your skin and the way it heals. Taking many different medications at once will also make it harder to predict the effectiveness of a permanent make-up procedure (no, its not the same as a regular tattoo).

The following medications will prevent proper pigment retention and if you take any of these regularly, you should NOT get permanent makeup:

  • Ticlopidine (Ticlid)

  • Cilostazol (Pletal)

  • Vorapaxar (Zontivity)

  • Dipyridamole (Persantine)

  • Coumadin

  • Triflusal (Disgren)

  • Clopidogrel (Plavix)

  • Prasugrel (Effient)

  • Ticagrelor (Brilinta)

  • Pradaxia (Dabigatran)

  • Xarelto (Rivaroxaban)

  • Eliquis (Apixaban)

  • Savaysa (Edoxaban)
